Here's a stylish way to improve ventilation Low profile cowl ventilatorbelow decks. Dorade and cowl vents not only look super-nautical, but also scoop lots of fresh air into the cabin. They are available in a range of styles, from familiar round and teardrop shapes to low-profile designs more suited to modern boats, and the interior surfaces are powder-coated in white (other colors by special order). Most can be manufactured in bronze cowl ventilatorbrass, bronze, or stainless, and optional deck plates allow the vents to be removed when sailing. It;s not a new idea, but these are beautifully made.
